Attorney Christina Cheung is a California and New York employment law attorney specializing in sexual harassment, sexual assault, workplace pregnancy and disability discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination cases on behalf of employees. She also represents survivors of sexual abuse by teachers, coaches, police officers, and other authority figures in institutional settings. Her practice focuses exclusively on representing plaintiffs—never employers or institutions—in civil rights litigation.

Since joining Allred, Maroko & Goldberg in September 2011, Ms. Cheung has successfully represented hundreds of clients in sexual harassment, assault, and employment discrimination cases, recovering hundreds of millions for them. Notable results include a $5.5 million settlement for a survivor allegedly sexually assaulted by a police officer, a $2.25 million settlement against a school district on behalf of a teenager who alleged she was sexually assaulted by her teacher, and a $9 million judgment in a child sexual abuse case.

Ms. Cheung previously worked as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, Employment Litigation Section, where she prosecuted systemic employment discrimination cases on behalf of the federal government. Ms. Cheung graduated near the top of her class from UCLA School of Law, where she was mentored by Vicki Schultz, one of the nation’s leading scholars in employment discrimination and sexual harassment law. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, and studied abroad at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where she became fluent in Spanish.

As a prominent leader in the California employment law community, Ms. Cheung serves on the Board of Directors of the California Employment Lawyers Association, one of California’s most influential employment law organizations. She also serves on the Executive Boards of two nonprofits: the Foundation for Advocacy, Inclusion & Resources and Legal Aid at Work, a leading organization supporting vulnerable workers. Additionally, Ms. Cheung serves on the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Section.

Ms. Cheung is frequently invited to speak at major legal conferences, where she shares her expertise on sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. She has received numerous honors, including recognition as a Super Lawyer Rising Star (2017 to 2021) and Southern California Super Lawyer (2023-present)—an honor awarded to no more than 5% of the lawyers in the state each year. She has also been named to Best Lawyers in Employment Law (top 5% of private practice attorneys nationwide), and LawDragon’s Top 500 Leading Civil Rights & Plaintiff Employment Lawyers (nationwide).

As a certified 200-hour yoga instructor, Ms. Cheung brings a trauma-informed approach to her legal practice, drawing on this training to support survivors of sexual harassment, assault, and abuse. She understands that representing trauma survivors requires both aggressive advocacy and respect for each client’s healing journey.
